Che pasticcio! -What a mess!

Oggi ho provato a cambiare il template al mio blog e, devo ammetterlo, sono un po' pasticciona con queste cose. Alla fine il template non funzionava e il computer non ha mantenuto in memoria tutti i miei links!!!
Così, pian piano, sto cercando di sistemare tutto e rintracciare tutti i blogs che seguo con piacere... se vi capita di leggere e vi va di aiutarmi: scrivetemi l'indirizzo del vostro blog! Lo metterò on-line con gli altri.

Oggi è il mio 31° compleanno!!!

Ho fatto una tortina al cioccolato, spolverata con zucchero a velo e agghindata con palline di cacao!!

Domani vi darò la ricetta che è facile e velocissima!

Ora scappo perchè fra poco esco a cena col mio fidanzato e poi... andremo ad una festa di "bikers"!! :-)

Non ve l'ho mai detto... ma siamo due patiti dell'Harley Davidson! Dario ha un "Nightrain" tutto fiammato e, beh, non vediamo l'ora che arrivi la primavera per farci qualche bel giro!!!

Mani di mamma - My mom's hands

Da quando ho riniziato a lavorare coi ferri e a dedicarmi al blog, ho rispolverato anche le magiche manine della mia mamma alla quale è tornata la voglia di fare a maglia. Così ho deciso di pubblicare la foto di questo bel golfino col cappellino, per bimba da 0 a 3 mesi, che ha eseguito con una lana mélange rosa.

Su due piedi - On the spot

Vi piacciono le mie nuove ciabattine di feltro?
Ho preso spunto dall'idea lanciata dalla Fra e ho trovato il cartamodello sul sito di Martha Stewart .
Come da lei proposto ho usato la forma delle farfalle da applicare. Per attaccarle ho usato delle perline e, inoltre, ne ho eseguita una completamente con le perline stesse.

Prima ho unito le suole al sopra con la macchina da cucire e poi le ho rifinite col cotone lanato a punto pettine. La suola risulta essere un po' leggera nonostante abbia usato il feltro doppio per essa. Dovrei cercare delle solette di materiale apposito, di quelle che vendono dai calzolai.
Nonostante ciò il risultato è davvero carino e si possono fare in tanti colori e personalizzare in molti modi.

Dedicandomi ai piedi... Ho finito la mia prima calza ai ferri circolari! Eccola qua!

Non mi è uscita proprio bene bene come mi aspettavo! Ma per essere la mia prima calza non mi posso lamentare!!

Do you like my new felt slippers?
I take the idea from Fra and I found the pattern on Martha Stewart website. As she does, I have used her pretty butterflies applying them with some beads.
I have also done one butterfly completely with beads.

I have sewed by sewing machine the sole to the top of each one and then I have done some stitches around with wool. The sole is a lttle too light even if I have used a double felt layer. The result is in any case very nice and they can be done in many colors and styles.

Going in for foots... I have finished my first sock with circular needles!!It is not really the perfection but I like it very much: it is always my first sock!! :-)

Winter Wonderland

Oggi è l'ultima giornata di festa. Ci siamo svegliati sotto almeno 20 centimetri di neve e ne continua a scendere ancora. Abbiamo fatto una bellissima passeggiata nel parco di quasi 1 ora e mezza... le immagini parlano da sè.

Today is the last day of holiday. We wake up under about 20 centimetres of snow... And it goes on to fall down... We have done a long walk in the park... pictures speak for themself...

Fagottini alla mela - Apple dumpling

Oggi ho provato a fare questi fagottini di mela e, accompagnandoli con caffè e succo d'arancia, la mia colazione è stata davvero ricca e gustosa!!!
Provateli anche voi, sono facili e veloci... poi ditemi cosa ne pensate!

Ingredienti:
- Una confezione di pasta sfoglia già pronta
- 1 grossa mela renetta
- 1 cucchiaio di zucchero
- marmellata di albicocche
- la scorza grattugiata di un limone
- 1 uovo

- Srotolate la pasta sfoglia e tiratela un po' con un mattarello. Ricavatevi quindi dei quadrati di circa 10 cm di lato.
- Sbucciate la mela, tagliatela a fettine, mettetela in una casseruolina con lo zucchero e 3 cucchiai di acqua. Fatela cuocere a fuoco basso, fino a che la mela sarà spappolata e asciutta (15 minuti circa).
- Togliete la pentola dal fuoco e incorporatevi 3-4 cucchiai di marmellata e la scorza del limone grattugiata ( se volete potete anche aggiungervi dell'uvetta precedentemente messa a bagno in poca acqua profumata con un goccio di rhum). Amalgamate bene il tutto.
- Mettete nel centro di ogni quadrato di pasta una bella cucchiaiata di composto e riunite le punte del quadrato verso il centro in modo da rinchiudere il ripieno.
- Spennellate i fagottini con l'uovo leggermente sbattuto.
- Adagiateli sulla placca del forno inumidita e cuoceteli a 200°C per 15-20 minuti. Quando saranno dorati estraeteli e lasciateli raffreddare.

Today I've tried to cook these apple dumplings and, togheter with coffee and orange juice, my breakfast has been really rich and tasty!!
Try them! Believe me, they are easy and fast... I wait for you feedback!!

Ingredients:
- A sheet of puff pastry
- 1 big apple
- 1 spoon of sugar
- apricot jam
- lemon peel
- 1 egg

- Roll out your puff pastry and cut some squares of 10 centimetres side.
- Peel the apple, slice it up and put it in a little saucepan with sugar and 3 spoons of water. Cook on a low heat since your apple will be dried and reduced to a mush (about 15 minutes).
- Take the saucepan off and put in 3-4 spoons of jam and the lemon peel (if you want you can also add some raisin that you previously put in water with some drop of rhum). Mix all togheter.
- Now, put in the middle of every square a big spoonful of the compound and join togheter the square's tips towards the centre.
- Brush your dumplings with the egg slightly whipped-up.
- Put them on the baking pan and bake them at 200°C for 15-20 minutes. Then, take them off and serve 'em chilled.

Limonata - Lemonade

Ogni volta che voglio fare una bella e fresca limonata dissetante, devo sempre andare alla ricerca delle dosi giuste nel web. Ecco perchè ho deciso di pubblicare questa ricettina sul mio blog: così quando vorrò rifarla, sarà tutto scritto qui, a portata di mano!
Spero possa tornare utile anche a voi!

Ingredienti:
- 1 Lt. di Acqua
- 3 Limoni
- 100 gr. di Zucchero

- Portate ad ebollizione il litro d'acqua. Poi versateci lo zucchero e mescolate bene per scioglierlo.
- Aggiungete la buccia dei 3 limoni (solo la parte gialla e non quella bianca) e fate raffreddare tutto.
- Una volta fredda, filtrate l'acqua eliminando le bucce e aggiungete il succo dei 3 limoni spremuti. Provate ad assaggiare e correggete di zucchero se è troppo amara.
- Mettete in frigorifero e consumate fredda: è buona e dissetante.

Every time I want to do a fresh lemonade, I have to surf the web in search of the right measures. That's why I've decided to write this fast receipt on my blog: next time I want to do it, I will find everything fastly here!
I hope that it could be useful also for you!

Ingredients:
- 1 litre of Water
- 3 Lemons
- 100 grams of Sugar

- Boil the water and then add the sugar. Mix it very well.
- Add the lemons peel (just the yellow one and not the white) and make it cold.
- Once it is cold, filter the water to eliminate peels. Add the 3 lemons juice. If the lemonade is too bitter, add again some sugar.
- Put the juice in the refrigerator and drink it cold: it is very good and thirst-quencing.

Io ho approfittato di un po' del mio tempo libero per inserire questo nuovo Free Pattern, per eseguire dei caldi e comodissimi guanti senza dita.

Sono molto pratici e permettono di fare un mucchio di cose con le dita mantenendo al caldo il palmo della mano!

Come al solito, trovate la spiegazione in inglese, ma se desiderate averla in italiano, scrivetemi e ve la invierò al più presto!

Have you had a great Christmas? I have a lot of free time (finally!) and I add this new Free Pattern in my blog, to knit these warm and comfortable fingerless gloves.

They are very practicals and let you do a lot of things with your fingers while your palm is kept warm.

FINGERLESS GLOVES by Daknit

Size: For men, big hands. If you want to do them for women, just use more little needle and yarn.

NECESSARY:

I used for each pair 50 grams of Lana d'Irlanda in blue.
A little bit of a contrast color wool,if you want to do initials.
Needles: US 7 (4,5 mm)

HOW TO:

LEFT HAND:

Cast on 40 stitches and knit 2, purl 2 for 14 rows. Then go on, working stockinette stitches for 4 rows.

Now, at the two sides of the central stitch, make 1 knit.You have to repeat it for 6 times, taking care to add stitches over the previous one.

At the end of these 6, separate 15 stitches (for the thumb) and work stockinette stitches for 2 rows, then knit 2, purl 2, for 4 rows. Bind off with a needle: in that way these last stitches are more elastics.

Then work the remaining stitches left: 4 rows in stockinette stitches and 4 rows knit 2, purl 2. Bind off in the same previous way.

Do the same work for the right hand, pay attention to separate the 15 stitches for thumb in the end of the row this time.

Now you have your gloves opened. To close them, you have to sew the different parts ( thumb, palm, wrist ) with hidden stitches.

Your gloves are ready to wear.

If you want to personalize them, you can emboider on the initials of your name. Here is some ways to do it:

SWISS DARNING:

To do Swiss Darning put your needle under the yarn of a knit stitch, then from right to left behind the knit stitch over it.
Thread the needle from the lower part to the higher one, under the same horizontal yarn from which has came out the first half of this stitch. Keep the same tension of the plain stitch.

CROSS STITCHING:

1. Put the needle under a yarn which connect 2 stitches. Pass across on the right, bring the needle down, under the yarn which connect the next 2 stitches.

2. Pass across on the left, thread the needle over the yarn between the 2 stitches, from which come out the yarn, then put it on bias under the next plain stitch and take it on again under the horizontal yarn.

Hoping to help you, I remain at your disposal for every further information.

Nel blog di Toni ho trovato questa "Wishing list" di cose che già si sono fatte o che si vorrebbero fare... Così ho pensato che potrebbe diventare una lista di desideri per il 2009 e oggi che ho un pochino di tempo libero voglio divertirmi a farla!!

Non ho molte cose che "non vorrei fare", lo vedrete che quasi tutto sarà evidenziato in corsivo o grassetto!! Sono di natura curiosa, vogliosa di fare e di imparare... Per questo se qualcuno mi propone nuove iniziative è molto difficile che mi tiri indietro!!

21 DICEMBRE: Natale è vicinissimo e sto ancora finendo gli ultimi regalini per alcuni amici.

Tra questi, ho appena finito dei porta macchina-fotografica: lavorati a maglia rasata ai ferri, con laccetti all'uncinetto e interni cuciti con tessuti di lana.
Ho fatto un lungo cordoncino laterale per poter portare attaccata al polso la macchina fotografica.

21st DECEMBER: Christmas is very near and I am finishing some friends' gifts.Today I have finished these camera holders: knitted in plain with needles, crocheted drawstrings and tha inside sewed with some flannel fabrics.The long drawstring is thinked to easy handle the camera, hanging it at the wrist.

CAMERA HOLDER PATTERN - English version

CAMERA HOLDER by Daknit

Finished Size: Long Side is about 8 inches, Short Side is about 5 inches.

8 inches=long side

5 inches=short side

This rectangle is the mesure of the knitted part. It has to be fold in half.

NECESSARY:

I think you can use every kind of yarn workable with US 7 (4,5 mm) needles. 30 Grams can be enough.
A piece (about 10 inches per 8 inches) of flannel fabric.
A button.
A piece of felt (if you want to put a letter outside)
Needles: US 7 (4,5 mm)
Crochet Hook: US G (4 mm)

HOW TO:

Cast on 40 stitches and work stocking stitches for 3 rows. Then go on working stockinette stitches for 28 rows. Bind off.

Iron the rectangle and the fold it in a half. Sew the lower side.

Once you have done the knitting work, you can make the lining inside.

Cut a 9x6 inches rectangle and hem one of the two long sides. Then sew togheter the two short sides and the inferior border.

Draw the letter of your name on the piece of felt and cut it. Sew it on the knitted camera holder with some stitches.

Then sew the remaining side of the knitted part.

After that, you can sew togheter the lining and the knitted part, by hidden stitches.

Then, take the hook and cast on 3 stitches on the central part of the opening. Work single crochet for 6 rows. At the end work 4 chaines and bind off. In the back side, sew a button. It is a little strap to prevent camera from sliding out of the holder.

To do the wrist strap, cast on 4 stitches with the hook on a side of your camera holder, and work single crochet for about 40 rows. You can mesure it with your wrist in the same time you are doing it. At the end, bind off and sew at the beginning of the strap.

CHRISTMAS TIME

Tutto intorno c'è aria di Natale! Per le strade, nei negozi e anche nelle case!

Nella mia, come da tradizione, ogni anno si fa un bell'albero di Natale colmo di addobbi. Essi rievocano anni della vita della nostra famiglia: mia mamma ha tenuto pendenti e palline degli anni '70 che ancora oggi ciondolano dai rami.

Pupazzetti, stelle, campane, palle e palline. Di ogni colore. Da quest'anno c'è anche un vasettino di Nutella trovato al supermercato: carino, vero?

Mettono una grande allegria a guardarli, ma i più belli sono senz'altro quelli che la mia mamma ha realizzato all'uncinetto qualche anno fa: un cappellino, una candela e un cesto di regali. Sempre attuali, sempre belli e sempre cari.

It's Christmas time all around! In the streets, in the shops, in the houses!

As usually every year, in our home we have made a big Christmas tree full of decorations. They remember to us different times of our family life: my mother has jealously kept some Christmas balls from seventies which every year hangin on our tree.

Puppets, stars, bells, balls. Of every color. This year there's also a little Nutella jar, found at the supermarket! Dont you think that it is nice?

I become happy to see our Christamas tree, and my favourite ones are the pendants my mother has crocheted. There's is an hat, a candle and a basket full of gifts.

Always beatiful and always dears to me.

Quando il tulipano resta fuori, le chiavi si nascondono nel vaso, quando tirate fuori le chiavi, il tulipano si abbassa.
Ho usato avanzi di stoffa e poi, tramite un altro sito dove sono presenti numerose spiegazioni per realizzare gli "scoubidou" ho fatto il cordoncino rosa.

Sto già pensando di realizzarne qualcuno per Natale: può essere un pensiero carino da regalare a qualche amica!

Crostata al cioccolato - Chocolate Tart

Ieri era una giornata freddissima e c'era una nebbia umida e fitta. Quale miglior giorno per trovare l'ispirazione adatta a cucinare una bella (e anche buona!!) crostata da gustare poi la domenica mattina?

Ingredienti per la Pasta Frolla:
- 350 gr. di Farina
- 140 gr. di Burro
- 140 gr. di Zucchero
- 2 uova
- 1 bustina di lievito per dolci
- 1 pizzico di sale

Ingredienti per la crema di cioccolato:
- 250 gr. di Cioccolato Fondente
- 3 Dl di Panna fresca da montare
- 50 gr. di Zucchero

- Per l'esecuzione della Pasta Frolla, fate fondere il burro sul fuoco basso e fatelo raffreddare.
- In una terrina, mettete la farina col lievito setacciata, lo zucchero, le uova, un pizzico di sale e il burro. Iniziate a mescolare il tutto con un cucchiaio di legno e poi usate le mani. Quando gli ingredienti si sono uniti a sufficienza, trasferite l'impasto su un piano da lavoro e lavorate bene la pasta fino a che diventi bella omogenea.
- Imburrate e infarinate una tortiera e mettete parte del composto sulla base di essa. Il restante impasto, usatelo per formare dei bordi abbastanza alti tutto intorno.
- Coprite il tutto con della carta stagnola, sulla quale verserete dei fagioli secchi.
- Infornate, a forno già caldo, a 180° C per 30 minuti circa. Ogni tanto controllate la cottura. Io dopo 25 minuti, ho tolto la carta d'alluminio per far cuocere bene anche la base della crostata.

- Nel frattempo (ma potete anche prepararla il giorno prima) fate la crema per la farcitura: fate sciogliere a fuoco lento, in un pentolino, il cioccolato con un cucchiaio d'acqua. Poi aggiungetevi i 50 gr. di zucchero.
- In un'altra casseruola mettete la panna fresca e portatela quasi a bollitura. Poi aggiungetela al cioccolato. Mescolate bene e fatela raffreddare.

- Quando la base della crostata sarà pronta, toglietela dal forno. Montate con delle fruste il composto di cioccolato fino a quando diventerà spumoso. Riempite quindi la pasta frolla con la crema ottenuta, aiutandovi a spalmarla con l'aiuto di un cucchiaio.
- Mettete in frigo per qualche ora.

Questa crostata al cioccolato va bene anche come merenda per i bambini: potete guarnirla con dei confettini al cioccolato colorati o disegnarvi, tramite essi, una scritta o una forma.
Ma è ottima anche come dolce per un dopo cena, magari finita con dei ciuffetti di panna montata e dei lamponi.

Io l'ho gustata semplice, questa mattina a colazione: è buonissima e non c'è niente di meglio per iniziare bene la giornata!!

Yesterday was very cold here. There was a thick mist and it was the right day to do a cake!!

Shortcrust Pastry's Ingredients:
- 350 gr. Flour
- 140 gr. Butter
- 140 gr. Sugar
- 2 eggs
- Baking Powder
- Salt

Chocolate Cream's Ingredients:
- 250 gr. dark Chocolate
- 3 Dl of Whipped Cream
- 50 gr. Sugar

- To do Shortcrust Pastry, melt the butter on a low heat. Then make it cold.
- In a mixing bowl put the flour, the baking powder, sugar, eggs and a pinch of salt. Mix all the ingredients using a spoon, then use your hands and try to obtain an homogeneous dough.
- Take a cake tin and put in it a part of the pastry. Put the remaining part all around, making high borders.
- Cover the base with some silver paper and dry beans.
- Put on hot oven at 180°C for about 30 minutes. After 25 minutes, I took off the silver paper to cook in a better way the base of the cake.

- Meantime (but you can also do it the day before) make the chocolate cream: melt on a low heat all the chocolate with a spoon of water. Then add 50 grams of sugar.
- In another saucepan, put the fresh cream (the one which can be whipped) and take it to boiling. Then add it to the chocolate and mix them very well.
- When the pastry will be ready, take it off the oven. Whipped the chocolate cream obtaining a creamy mixture.
- Fill the pastry with that cream and put the cake in the refrigerator for a few hours.

This cake could be a nice idea for your children's afternoon snack: you can fill it with some colored chocolate candies, and drawing by them some words.
But it is SUPER also as an after dinner, filled with some whipped cream and raspberries.
I have eaten it this morning for my breakfast and there isn't nothnig better than that to begin in a right way the day!!

Babucce - Slippers

Regalo di compleanno - Birthday's gift

Il 27 novembre è il compleanno di una delle persone per me più importanti, che ha saputo lasciare un segno profondo nella mia vita: Dario, il mio fidanzato!

Come regalo ho voluto fargli una cosa realizzata da me e così, scartabellando tra varie riviste, ho trovato un bel maglione da uomo su Mani di Fata da cui ho preso il modello.
Ho usato della Lana Irlanda, una lana di spessore, tale da essere lavorata con dei ferri 5 senza essere troppo pesante, abbastanza sportiva e del suo colore preferito: Blu.
Questo è stata la mia prima realizzazione di un maglione da uomo. Avevo davvero paura di non riuscire a farlo come si deve, così ho iniziato la lavorazione... nel mese di settembre!! Mi ero data del tempo, in caso di eventuali sbagli, per potervi rimediare! :-)
Infatti, ho dovuto rifare per due volte la lunghezza scalfi, che erano risultati troppo corti, e il collo venuto troppo stretto...
Ma alla fine, con pazienza, ho sistemato tutto!

Di questo maglione mi piace molto la lavorazione delle maniche, che sulle spalle diventa a coste. E molto bello è anche il collo, lavorato con delle coste e delle piccole trecce. Esso viene lavorato per il doppio della sua lunghezza in modo che possa essere poi risvoltato sopra la zip cucita, nascondendola. Inoltre, in questo modo, si crea un buono spessore che sostiene il collo a lupetto e, una volta lasciato aperto, è anche bello da vedere.

A Dario il regalo è piaciuto tantissimo. Lui apprezza sempre molto i regali realizzati con le proprie mani e sono stata davvero felice anch'io!! Soprattutto, una volta indossato, vedendo che il maglione gli sta a pennello! Sembra fatto su misura!!

Thursday 27 was Dario's birthday!! Dario is my boyfriend, one of the most important people in my full life.

For him, I knitted this sweater. I found the pattern on Mani di Fata , an Italian knitting magazine, and I used Lana Irlanda, an italian wool, in his favourite color: Blue.
This is the first time I realized a man's sweater and, thinking I have surely done some mistakes, I began to knit it in the month of September!! :-)
In fact, I have done some imprecisions in the sleeves and in the neck and I had all the time to correct them!!

What I like of this sweater? Surely the sleeves pattern on the shoulders. But also the double cable neck.
Yeah, because the neck is worked twice as much his lenght. When you put the zip, its seam will be covered by the neck's lapel. ( I hope you will understand my bad english!! ).

Dario has loved very much my gift and I am so happy of that fact!! Once he has wearing the sweater I have been happier, because the sweater seems like to be made to measure!!

Apple Pie!

Provate questa torta! E' sfiziosissima e volendo, a fine pranzo, potete servirla accompagnandola con del gelato o una crema pasticciera!

Ingredienti:

- 2 confezioni di Pasta Breesè

- 1 kg di Mele

- 250 gr di Zucchero

- 4 Biscotti secchi

- 1 Limone

- Burro

- Cannella

- Sbucciate e tagliate a pezzetti all'incirca 1 kg di mele. Mettetele in una terrina e irroratele col succo del limone. Aggiungete quindi un pizzico di cannella e lo zucchero.

- Stendete nella tortiera la prima sfoglia breesè con sotto la sua carta da forno, bucherellatela, sbriciolate i biscotti e spargeteli sul fondo. Poi versateci sopra le mele a pezzetti. Aggiungete 2 cucchiai di zucchero e qualche ricciolo di burro.

- Stendete il secondo foglio di pasta e ponetela sopra la tortiera, come un coperchio, saldando bene i bordi pizzicandoli.

. Infornate in forno già caldo a 180°C per 35 minuti circa.

I try to do Apple Pie and it is delicious!!! You can serve it, at the end of your dinner, also with ice-cream or confectioner's custard.

Ingredients:

- 2 cartons of rolled-out pastry

- 4/5 apples

- 250 grams of Sugar

- 4 dry biscuits

- 1 lemon

- Butter

- Cinnamon

- Peel and cut you apples in little pieces. Put them in a mixing bowl and spill on it lemon juice. Add a little of cinnamon and all the sugar.

- Roll-out your pastry on the cake tin keeping its paper on. Then riddle it, crumble your biscuits and put them on tha pastry. Add apples and level them. Add 2 sugar spoons and some butter on it.

- Roll-out the second pastry and put it on the cake tin as a lid, joint borders.

- Put in the hot oven at 180°C for 35 minutes.

Ieri era una giornata di pieno sole! Avete visto le foto dei miei ciclamini?? Bene, oggi sono sommersi dalla neve che, quatta quatta, questa notte è scesa, ricoprendo di un lieve strato tutto il paese.

Dato che il mio raffreddore è peggiorato, oggi sono a casa in malattia e, dalle mie finestre, ne ho approfittato per fare qualche foto.

Anche qui in Brianza il freddo dell'inverno è arrivato. Nonostante ci siano giornate di sole strepitoso, con cieli tersi e puliti, l'aria che tira è davvero gelida. Non per niente mi sono già presa il mio primo raffreddore dell'anno!!!... A proposito, non avete qualche buon "rimedio della nonna" per farlo passare un po' più in fretta?? Comunque, anche se le temperature stanno pian piano scendendo, i ciclamini del mio giardino splendono di vita e colore. Quello dalle tinte più rosse, è in fiore dal mese di Agosto. E continua a farne di nuovi, sempre. Pensate che li avevo presi per Natale, l'anno scorso. Poi, di solito, quando passato il periodo invernale li mettevo a riposo, i bulbi seccavano o morivano. Questa volta invece li ho piantati in terra in un grosso vaso rettangolare. Forse grazie alle numerose piogge estive, che hanno reso il clima un po' più primaverile piuttosto che bollente come di tradizione, i ciclamini si sono man mano allargati, estesi e si sono colmati di questa meravigliosa e inaspettata fioritura che è un piacere da guardare!

Well, also here in Brianza (country around Milano), winter is finally arrived. There are sunny days, with a clear and light sky, but there's also an icy wind! In fact, I have my first cold of the year! ... Don't you know some grandma's remedy to suggest me?? In any case, even if there's a decrease in temperature, my garden's cyclamens are full of life and color!The darker one is flowered by the month of August! And it go on and on to bloom. I bought them last Christmas and, every year, when the flowering has stopped, I retire them. But every time their bulbs died. This time I put them directly in a pot in my garden and, thanks to a lot of summer raines, they have grown up and filled up of flowers. It's a pleasing to the eye!

Dolcetto della domenica: MUFFINS! - Sunday trick: MUFFINS!

Mia cugina Mary mi ha passato questa buonissima ricetta per fare dei Muffins squisiti! E così come ogni domenica che si rispetti, mi diletto a cucinare qualche buon dolce. Questi sono proprio buoni! Soprattutto per la colazione. Provare per credere!

INGREDIENTI:
- 300 gr di farina
- 100 gr di zucchero
- 130 gr di latte
- 120 gr di burro
- 2 uova
- un pizzico di sale
- una bustina di lievito per dolci ( per farcire: gocce di cioccolato, nutella o marmellata)

-Amalgamate il burro ammorbidito con lo zucchero, aggiungete le uova, il latte, il sale, la farina e per ultimo il lievito. Se volete farli con gocce di cioccolato, aggiungetele ora, altrimenti procedete a riempire le pirottine di carta.
- Le pirottine vanno riempite fino a metà, non di più, (sono due cucchiai). Se volete farcirle con nutella o marmellata, mettete: un cucchiaio di impasto, un cucchiaino colmo di ripieno e un altro cucchiaio di impasto.
- Infornate a forno già caldo a 180° per 20 minuti.

Quelle farcite di Nutella, sono davvero una cannonata!!!

My cousin Mary has given to me this wonderful Muffins recipe. So, as usually at Sunday, I try to do something good in the kitchen... :-) These muffins are really very very good... Try to believe it! They are the right thing for breakfast!

INGREDIENTS:
- 300 grams of flour
-100 grams of sugar
- 130 grams of milk
- 120 grams of butter
- 2 eggs
- a tweak of salt
- baking powder
( for the stuffing: chocolate drops, nut cream or marmelade)

- Amalgamate the soften butter with sugar, then add eggs, milk, salt, flour and the baking powder. If you want to do muffins with chocolate drops, add them now. Otherwise go on to fill the moulds.
- Moulds have to be half-filled (two spoons). If you want to fill muffins with nut cream or marmelade, put a spoon of dough, a spoon of favourite stuffing, then again a spoon of dough.
- Cook at 180°C for 20 minutes.

My favourite is the one with nut cream: it's amazing!!!

Una copertina fatta ai ferri... ma pensavo di ingrandirla un po' aggiungendoci altre piastrelle e magari potrei rivestirla nella parte inferiore con della flanella bella calda. Così sarebbe finita meglio... O potrei continuare con un bordo all'uncinetto tutto intorno... Voi cosa mi consigliate?

Fieracavalli - Horse's Fair

Oggi sono stata a vedere la 107° Fieracavalli a Verona.
Nata come e vera propria fiera per l'esposizione di cavalli nel 1838, anno dopo anno si consolida e arrivano cavalli da tutta Europa, ingrandendosi sempre di più. Arrivata ai giorni nostri come una manifestazione di rilievo, Fieracavalli é diventata un punto di riferimento per l'intero settore ippico mondiale. Qui, ogni anno, si trovano riuniti insieme gli amanti di tutte le svariate monte (inglese, western, maremmana, ecc...), di tutte le razze equine (dal cavallo italiano, a quello americano, da quello spagnolo a quello arabo, ecc...) e di tutto ciò che ruota intorno al mondo equestre. C'è solo l'mbarazzo della scelta di cosa guardare e non è affatto difficile perdersi in questo vasto labirinto di stands relativi ad agriturismi e ranch, a sellerie e a venditori di stivali, a chi propone meravigliose passeggiate nella natura e a chi propone metodi di doma dolce.
Insomma, una manifestazione da non perdere per chi ama il cavallo: questo meraviglioso animale che ha dato all'uomo il privilegio di volare, grazie a lui, sulle ali del vento.

Today I've been to the 107th Fieracavalli (Horse's Fair) in Verona, a city in the north-east of Italy.
Bornt as an horses fair, where people bought or sold them, in 1838. Year after year the show consolidated and horses came from all Europe. Today this fair has becomed an important appointment for all the people who love horses worldwide. And people can found here everything about western ride, english ride, all horse breed, etc... You can get lost between many and many boothes concerning riding, wearing, saddles, boots, etc...
I think that you can't lose this Fair if you love the horse: a wonderful spirit who has let man flying, by him, on the wind's wings.

Biscotti Milanesi - Biscuits from Milano

INGREDIENTI:
- 250 gr di farina
- 125 gr di zucchero
- 80 gr di burro
- 2 uova
- sale
- 1 limone
- essenza di vaniglia

-Versate sulla spianatoia la farina, unite lo zucchero, un pizzico di sale e mescolate gli ingredienti. Disponeteli a fontana e ponetevi al centro i tuorli, il burro leggermente ammorbidito e a pezzetti e la scorza grattugiata di un limone. Mentre inpastate aggiungete pian piano un volume d'acqua pari a due mezzi gusci d'uovo e una fialetta di essenza di vaniglia. Impastate ancora sino ad ottenere una pasta perfettamente liscia ed omogenea. Con il matterello stendetela sulla spianatoia infarinata, ottenendo una sfoglia dello spessore di 4mm.

- Usando stampini di varie forme (cuore, rombo, fiore, mezzaluna, ecc.) ricavate tanti biscotti, allineateli leggermente distanziati tra loro su una o due placche ricoperte da carta da forno e cuocete in forno già caldo a 170° per circa 12 minuti.

- Quando i biscottini saranno ben cotti e dorati, sistemateli su una gratella da pasticceria e lasciateli raffreddare completamente.
Io li ho cosparsi di zucchero a velo e messi in una bella scatola di latta che avevo decorato quest'estate con delle conchiglie.

INGREDIENTS:

- 125 grams of sugar
- 80 grams of butter
-1 lemon
- 2 eggs
- salt
- vanilla extract

-Work the flour with sugar and a few salt. Then create a well and put inside 2 yolks, soft butter and the lemon peel. While you work, add a little water and vanilla extract. Knead since you obtain a smooth and homogeneous pastry. By a rolling-pin stretch out it obtaining a sheet of pastry.

- Using different moulds get biscuits and put them on one or two baking tin.

- Cook them in the hot oven at 170° for about 12 minuts.

- When they are ready, take them out and let them make cold.
I put on a little of icing sugar and I put them in a tin that I decorated last summer with some shells.

Mustangs

Ieri sera ho visto un bellissimo film: FLICKA - Uno spirito libero.

"Katy McLaughlin, è una studentessa sedicenne che ritorna nel Wyoming dove il padre gestisce un ranch, allevando cavalli. Katy è una ragazza testarda che si ribella alle tradizioni che il padre cerca di inculcarle, lei vorrebbe gestire il ranch ma il padre preferibbe affidarlo all'altro figlio. Katy trova una mustang selvaggia, e decide di chiamarla Flicka, addestrarla e farne una cavalla da monta, così da dimostrare al padre che ormai è grande e sa assumersi le responsabiltà di una persona matura."

Il film ha una fotografia spettacolare, gli spazi sconfinati americani fanno solo venir voglia di prendere il primo aereo per Cheyenne ed andare a vivere là.

Anche le parole della protagonista sono molto suggestive e fanno venire la pelle d'oca a chiunque abbia "uno spirito libero". Ecco qualche esempio:

- Credo ci sia una forza in questo mondo che vive al di sotto della sua superficie. Qualcosa di primitivo e selvaggio. Che viene fuori quando necessiti di una spinta in più per sopravvivere. Come le piante delle foreste, che continuano a germogliare anche dopo che si è cercato di bruciarle col fuoco. Molte persone sono spaventate da questa sensazione e la tengono ben nascosta in loro. Ma ci sarà sempre una piccola parte di persone che avrà il coraggio di amare ciò di selvaggio che giace in loro.

- Una volta gli Americani andavano nell'Ovest alla ricerca del loro destino. Oggi sembra che essi vaghino da una costa all'altra sperduti. Ma penso che stiano cercando ancora la stessa cosa. Un posto dove essere ottimisti riguardo il futuro. Un posto che li aiuti a essere ciò che vogliono essere davvero. Dove possono sentire che la vita ha un senso. Un posto dove possono sentire quello che io sento quando cavalco Flicka. Perché quando noi galoppiamo quello che sento é... libertà.

Navigando su internet alla ricerca dei Mustangs, ho trovato molto interessante lo studio di Jamie Jackson sugli zoccoli dei cavalli selvaggi e la sua teoria del "movimento del cavallo scalzo" o "barefoot movement". Lasciando infatti sferrato un cavallo, lo si può guarire da zoppie, laminiti e navicoliti!!!
Come Monty Roberts (il vero uomo che sussurra ai cavalli) che doma i cavalli dolcemente, dopo aver studiato il loro comportamento in branco, anche Jamie Jackson, maniscalco di professione, ha studiato la vita e sopratutto i piedi dei mustangs portando notevoli migliorie nei rapporti tra gli uomini e questi meravigliosi Figli del vento.

Bhè, che dire? Questo film è uno di quei film che mi fa ricordare perché non riesco a vivere senza i cavalli, la mia linfa.

This movie has great natural sets. These wide american spaces feel you like to take the first flight to Cheyenne and go to live there.

Surfing on the net, searching for Mustangs, I found very interesting the work of Jaime Jackson and his theory about the "barefoot movement". If you leave your horse without his horseshoe, you can help him to prevent from lameness and many others hoof diseases.

As Monty Roberts (the true man who whispers to horses) uses gentle horse training methods, after studying their herd life, so do Jamie Jackson, a blacksmith, studying hoofs and life of wild mustangs.

What I have to add? This movie is one of many other that remind me why I cannot live without horses and how much I love these "Wind sons".

Torta Marmorizzata - Marbled Cake

Ingredienti:

- 230 gr di Farina

- 230 gr di Zucchero

- 200 gr di Burro

- 30 gr di Cacao Amaro

- Lievito in polvere

- 4 uova

- Vanillina

- 1 cucchiaio di Latte

- Sale

- ( a piacere, 200 gr di cioccolato bianco o nero per copertura)

- In una terrina, lavorate il burro morbido con 100 gr di zucchero.

- Sbattete i tuorli con altri 100 gr di zucchero fino ad ottenere una crema gonfia; sempre mescolando, unite la crema di burro, la farina, il lievito, la vanillina e gli albumi montati a neve con una presa di sale.

- Dividete il composto in due parti e ad una aggiungete il cacao, un cucchiaio di latte e lo zucchero rimasto.

- Imburrate e infarinate uno stampo da torta e versatevi i due composti a cucchiaiate, alternandoli.

- Cuocete in forno già caldo a 180° C per 30/45 minuti.

- Nel frattempo che il dolce è in forno, fate sciogliere a bagnomaria il cioccolato con cui ricoprirete la torta una volta sfornata e raffreddata.

-Dopo aver spalmato il cioccolato, consiglio di tenerla per un po' in frigo in modo da farlo raddensare bene.

E' SQUISITA!!!

- (If you want, 200 grams of white or black chocolat to cover the cake)

- Work butter with 100 grams of sugar.

- Beat yolks with 100 grams of sugar, reaching a blown cream.

- Then add to it the butter cream, flour, baking powder, vanillin and the egg whites whipped-up with a little salt.

- Then share in two parts your mixture and, at one of these, add the cocoa, a spoon of milk and the remained sugar.

- Butter and flour a cake stamp and pour the two parts alternating these.

- Cook at 180°c for about 30/45 minutes, then let the cake make cold and cover it with the chocolate you have melted ina double saucepan.

Mi sono data alla "sartoria" :-) .

Da un bellissimo scampolo di lana tartan (che si usa tanto quest'anno) che avevo in casa, ne ho fatto un

bell'abito a tubino, completato da una cinturina applicata in tinta unita nera a cui ho aggiunto un bel fiocco sul davanti... in vero stile Jackie Kennedy!

L'abito lo posso mettere da solo o con un bel dolcevita in microfibra nero posto sotto.

Mi piace molto! Semplice, chic e portabile in varie occasioni. Sono proprio soddisfatta!!

From a piece of great tartan wool (this year is very fashion tartan!) I have made a beatiful shift dress, with a black belt and a bow on the front: the true Jackie Kennedy's style!

I can wear it alone or I can put a rollneck under the dress.

I like it very much! Simple, chic and to wear in many occasions! I am really satisfied of my work!

Qualche tempo fa ho iniziato a scrivere racconti per bambini. Mi è sempre piaciuto scrivere storie fantastiche, animate da personaggi come folletti, fate, maghi o streghe. E dare ai bambini qualcosa di magico da leggere, qualcosa di positivo, qualcosa con cui sognare, estraniandosi per un po' dalla relatà che la tv mostra loro tutti i giorni e che, in gran parte, non può che far intristire.
Dalla mia passione per i cavalli è nata una storia di fantasia che ho intitolato VALLE FIORITA.
Mi diedi da fare per pubblicarla, mandandola a diverse case editrici, ma tutti mi rispondevano: "per la prima pubblicazione devi auto-finanziarti", sborsando cifre enormi. Così, dopo aver trovato il sito www.lulu.com , ho creato il mio account, la copertina, la rilegatura, ecc... Piante - Plants

E' una meraviglia avere ancora 26° al mese di ottobre!!!

Oggi c'era un sole caldissimo, un cielo azzurrissimo, e tutto ciò non fa che mettere di buon umore!

Vista la bella giornata ne ho approfittato per fare qualche foto ad alcune delle mie piante.

Ecco alcune delle piantine grasse che coltivo. Quando le ho prese erano davvero piccole, ma col tempo e le cure giornaliere stanno crescendo a vista d'occhio!!

Quella che più mi dà soddisfazione è questa a forma di pallina che tutti gli anni fa minimo 6 o 7 fiori a stagione! L'unico peccato è che il fiore vive solo per un giorno e poi appassisce. Ma ne vale la pena vederlo: è stupendo!!

L'altra mia pianta preferita è il mio Ficus Bonsai. Regalatomi dal mio fidanzato per Natale, ci sono molto affezionata, e sto attenta affinchè i suoi 35 anni di vita durino ancora per altri 100 anni!

Quest'inverno l'avevo in casa e c'erano periodi in cui veniva attaccato dalle cocciniglie: tremende, non riuscivo a debellarle. Sino a che non ho scoperto un ottimo spray apposito per ucciderle. Sono un po' contraria a usare disinfestanti sulle piante, ma è stato l'unico modo per proteggerlo.

Quest'estate invece l'ho messo all'aperto, in giardino. La pianta si è sviluppata in tutto il suo splendore e mi ha fatto molto piacere quando ho visto che due grosse coccinelle si erano stabilite tra le sue foglie, mangiando tutti gli insettini nocivi!

Grande utilità quella delle coccinelle!

Quando le trovate, cercate di non farle volar via! Sono il miglior anti-parassitario per le vostre piante!

It's great to have 26°C in the month of october!! Today there was a great hot sun, a blue sky and it makes me happy!!

So, I have took some pics of my plants.

Here, you can see some of my fleshy plants. They were too little when I bought'em, but now they are very big! My favourite is the "ball": every year, it make a lot of white flowers! Wonderful!! But it's a pity the flowers live only for one day.

My other favourite plant is my Ficus Bonsai. My boyfriend gave it to me last Christmas and I love it ( and him !) :-)

In winter I bring it inside and I take care of it using some sprays against mites. In summer It is outside in the garden, and it feel very good in that place. It makes a lot of leafs. I was very happy this summer, when I found inside its leafs a couple of red ladybird, settle in here.

Ladybirds are the best insecitdice of the world!!! Take care of them!!

Torta all'arancia - Orange Cake

INGREDIENTI:

- 2 o 3 arance spremute (a seconda della grandezza)

- la scorza di mezza arancia

- 250 gr. di zucchero

- 75 gr. di burro

- 3 uova

- 300 gr. di farina

- 1/2 busta di lievito

- 1/2 busta di vanillina

- sale

- Far sciogliere il burro in un pentolino e poi farlo raffreddare.

- In una terrina aggiungete al burro fuso lo zucchero e amalgamate bene.

- Aggiungere poi, uno per volta, le uova, la spremuta di arance, la farina setacciata col lievito e la vanillina e un pizzico di sale.

- Dalla buccia di 1/2 arancia che avete spremuto tagliatene tanti pezzettini e aggiungeteli all'impasto.

- Dopo aver imburrato e infarinato una pirofila versatevi il composto e cuocete in forno a 180° per circa 30 minuti.

Dopo aver tolto la torta, fatela raffreddare e decoratela con zucchero a velo. Oppure potete tagliarla a metà e farcirla con della crema pasticciera o della marmellata.

- 2 or 3 squeezed oranges

- 1/2 orange peel

- 250 gr. sugar

- 75 gr. butter

- 3 eggs

- 300 gr. flour

- baking powder

- vanillin

- salt

- Put the melt butter with sugar and amalgamate them.

- Then, add the eggs, the squeezed oranges and, inch by inch, the flour with baking powder and vanillin. Put also a few salt.

- Cut the skin of 1/2 orange in little pieces and add it to the dough.

- Put the final dough in a cake pan and cook it at 180° C for about 30 minutes in your oven.

Then, when the cake is ready, you can put on it some icing sugar. Or you can cut the cake in two and put inside confectioner's custard or marmelade.

Enjoy it!

CADONO LE FOGLIE

Oggi giornata di sole spettacolare in quel di Milano.

Un bel clima tiepido ha accompagnato la passeggiata nel parco con Black e ha messo in risalto tutti i meravigliosi colori della natura in questa stagione.

Camminando nei viali alberati e, finalmente, deserti, si veniva sfiorati dal leggero oscillare delle foglie secche che cominciano a scivolare giù dalle piante.

Nei prati numerosi aironi cinerini sostavano in attesa di cibo. Poi, disturbati dal nostro passaggio, spiccavano il volo mettendo in risalto la loro straordinaria apertura alare.

...La natura riesce sempre a offrire spettacoli meravigliosi e gratuiti di cui a volte nemmeno ci accorgiamo ...

PRIMA LANA

Nei buchi di tempo libero ho iniziato a sferruzzare qualcosa con avanzi di lana che avevo in casa, aspettando il momento giusto di andare a fare man bassa nei negozi di lana reali o virtuali.Ho realizzato così tre "completini" invernali per bambine.

Il primo con lana verdone, messa doppia e ferri grossi, per la sciarpa, a maglia rasata. Per il cappellino l'ho invece usata singola con ferri del 4. Dato era un po' triste nell'insieme, ho fatto dei fiorellini all'uncinetto in vari colori che ho poi attaccato mettendoci al centro una grossa perlina nello stesso colore. In questo modo tutti i colori dell'autunno sono finiti nella lavorazione.

Con la lana nera ho realizzato un bel cappellino a grana di riso, con paraorecchie e due bei laccetti col pom-pom. Poi ho preso dei brillantini termo-adesivi da attaccare col ferro da stiro e ho decorato la fascetta lavorata a coste 2-2.

Per finire, lana grigia abbinata a motivi jacquard rosa. Cuoricini e pom-pom per le bimbe romantiche!!

BISCOTTI PER BLACK! (..e altri vari ed eventuali cani golosi..)

L'autunno è ormai arrivato. Cosa c'è di meglio che passare la serata a fare dei biscotti?

Ho trovato su un libro di cucina la ricetta dei "biscotti ferraresi" e così l'ho sperimentata.

L'impasto, morbidissimo nella lavorazione, si è poi tramutato in biscotti duri e croccanti!!! :-(

A lavoro ultimato, stavo assaggiandone alcuni. Black, il mio cagnone nero (un nome scelto giusto a caso!), si avvicina quatto quatto, mi guarda e ne reclama un pezzetto... (Prima di continuare... dovete sapere che Black è un cane inappetente.. o è meglio dire "viziato"? Mangia pollo arrosto e rifiuta però gli arrosti... chi lo capirà mai??). Mai e poi mai avrei pensato che a Black sarebbero piaciuti quei biscotti duri e poco saporiti!!

Alla fine, nel giro di due giorni, se li è mangiati tutti!!

Così ho pensato di annotare la ricetta come "prelibatezza per cani". Ingredienti naturali, 0 conservanti... più buoni di così?? per un cane intendo dire .... :-)

Se volete provarli anche voi per il vostro amico a 4 zampe ecco qua la ricetta originale:

INGREDIENTI per circa 2 teglie da forno:

- 6 tuorli d'uovo

- 200 gr. di zucchero

- 1 limone non trattato

- 200 gr. di farina bianca

- Mettete i tuorli in una terrina con lo zucchero. Sbattete con una frusta fino ad ottenere un composto chiaro e spumoso, quindi aromatizzatelo con mezza scorza di limone grattugiata.

- Incorporate la farina setacciandola, amalgamate bene il tutto fino ad ottenere un impasto molto morbido. Se occorre unite un altro po' di farina.

- Con un matterello infarinato stendete l'impasto ottenuto e con l'aiuto di un coltello ricavate tanti biscotti della forma che preferite, magari con la sagoma di un osso.

- Rivestite la teglia con della carta da forno, adagiatevi i biscotti distanziati fra loro, passateli in forno caldo a 160° e cuoceteli per 10-15 minuti fino a quando appariranno dorati. Io ho usato il forno ventilato per non farli bruciare.

- Sfornateli e aspettate che si raffreddino prima di darli in premio al vostro cane!

In a autumn evening I have found the receipe of these "Ferrara's Biscuits". But the result was not so good... One who appreciate a lot them is Black (my big dog!). He really love'em!! And so I have thought that this kind of receipe can be used to do dog-biscuits!

Here it is:

INGREDIENTS:

- 6 egg yolks

- 200 gr. sugar

- 1 lemon

- 200 gr. flour

- Whip-up the egg yolks with sugar and add the lemon peel.

- Add the flour and amalgamate well.

- Then roll the dough and get many bones.

- Cover a baking pan with some silver paper and put the bones on it. Bake them at 160° for 10-15 minutes.

Ciao a tutti!

questo è il mio primo blog.

Ho deciso di farne uno perché ho davvero tante cose da dire, mostrare e condividere con chi ha le mie stesse passioni.

Ho scelto questo momento per lanciarmi in quest'impresa perché sto vivendo un momento particolare.

So che sta spirando il vento del cambiamento sulla mia vita e non voglio lasciarlo scappare.

Già alcune piccole cose sono mutate:

-Ho smesso di fumare... da ben 3 settimane... e non ho nemmeno fatto tanta fatica :-).

-Sono più consapevole di me stessa, di quello che voglio o posso fare. Sto facendo ordine nella mia vita e ciò mi dà piacere.

Spero di rendervi presto partecipi di altre buone novità.
